The Math/Science Nucleus has joined forces with the City of Fremont, Alameda Public Works, and Fremont Unified School District to provide quality information on the biology, geology, and chemistry of southern Alameda County.  This allows students and community to participate in the restoration and overall watershed plan.

The Fremont Watershed Study evolved as an effort to respond to a  national agenda to understand local watersheds. The primary objective of the Federal Clean Water Act is to "restore and maintain the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of the Nation's waters."
