Retaining Wall to prevent erosion at Beginning

For my Eagle Scout Service Project, I designed and led the construction of a wooden retaining wall along a trail at the Tule Ponds Nature Area. The area had significant soil erosion making it unsafe for students, workers, and volunteers who regularly walk the path. The retaining wall stabilizes the slope and protects the trail from collapse. The project will make the trail safer and more accessible and will reduce further maintenance work for the beneficiary.

This project would not have been possible without the dedication and teamwork of all the helpers. I am grateful to the Scouts and adults who showed up across multiple Sundays to help with all the hard work that went into this project. Their ability to collaborate and stay patient made a huge difference in the smoothness of this process. I also want to thank my beneficiary Dr. Blueford for the guidance and support throughout the project and for letting me do a project at Tule Ponds. I truly appreciate everyone who contributed their time to help protect the trail and make it safer for the community.
