Western Pond turtle   Clemmys marmorata

The Western Pond turtle Is a moderate size (120-210 cm) drab brown to yellow-olive turtle without prominent markings on its carapace.  In early spring females move to upland area to make a nest.  The  species has declined because of urbanization.
