Stivers Lagoon Trail Marker Placement

February 4, 2002 Irvington Academy students helped place the posts for the trail markers and informational signs.  These posts will mark the trails to accompany a brochure that tells about the area and the wildlife inside.  This project marks the beginning of a new step in the restoration of Stivers Lagoon, public awareness.

These students have been working in Stivers Lagoon for the past 3 years to help remove creek debris and to widen the trail areas.  Their efforts have been rewarded with the opening and naming of the trails to allow more public access to this urban retreat.

Special thanks to Rangers Sandy Ferreira, Sue Nogare, Terry Barber, Sue Hall, and Judy Felber.  Also to Scott Lewis the instructor of the Academy Students.
