The heart of the City of Fremont drains into Mud Slough.  Several major creeks bring trash from these areas into Mud Slough.  Tidal action also brings debris from the west side of the bay, as the currents flush the area twice a day.

LAM Research Corporate Headquarters is only a few yards from Mud Slough.  A generous grant ($10,000.00)  to the Math Science Nucleus from LAM allowed several clean up days along the bank of Mud Slough as it flows into the San Francisco Bay.

Garbage is dominated by plastic and glass bottles.  Balls including tennis, softballs, soccer, and even footballs are found throughout the area.    Local schools especially Mission San Jose High students from the Green Club helped in this effort.
