Debbie Masten Davidson passed away unexpectedly on June
7, 2025 at the age of 59. Kind hearted and endlessly
giving, she was deeply loved by family, friends, and
everyone she met. She was happiest in the company of her
furry friends as well as when she was helping others. Her
warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit made her a light in
the lives of many. Her greatest passions in life were
volunteering for animal rescues and sharing a love of
science with young minds by serving as the Vice President
of Math Science Nucleus. The impact Debbie made in
education continues to ripple through the lives she
touched. She is survived by her daughters Megan and Casey
Davidson, her brothers Scott Masten and Bill Masten III,
and her father William Masten Jr. Debbie’s energy was
unmistakable, and her absence leaves a space that cannot
be filled. She will be deeply missed and forever
remembered.

Debbie Davidson worked with the Math Science Nucleus’
nationally recognized curriculum, Integrating Science Math
and Technology. She was key in working with school
administrators to bring the program to North Carolina
presenting teacher training; setting up science labs and
outdoor classrooms; and conducting science community
clubs, science camps, and environmental projects. Prior
to the Math Science Nucleus, she developed and grew the
outreach program for Discovery Place (a leading science
and technology museum) in Charlotte NC. She continues to
be involved with animal rehabilitation and foster
activities, and land (timber and wildlife) management.
