17 acre site using storm water as restoration; owned by Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District; managed by Math Science Nucleus

Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon near the Fremont BART Station is not open to the public.  However the community can sign up for these guided tours. Pre-registration is highly recommended.
 

Microscopes and Microorganisms

Learn about the different types of microscopes used in the classroom from reflecting to refracting.  Provided with classification of common fresh water critters.

Learn about their housing (tule hut), what they eat (native plants, preparation), how they hunted (making weapons), how they played.  Will make tule toys or boat to be used in the classroom

Native Plants in Local Region

Learn natve vs non natve plants in the area.  Make a leaf identification chart that will help you bring into the class.  Learn about the different uses of our natives.  You will be able to take seeds (i.e. milkweed, poppies) to share with your students
