Looking for a different way to celebrate your child’s birthday? How about a fun-filled science experience with Math Science Nucleus staff and hands-on activities? A great way to learn about science. Proceeds from these parties helps to maintain the Children's Natural History Museum.

Saturday: $200 for Math Science Nucleus members; $235 for non-members (includes membership). A 2 hour party for 15 children and up to 5 parents includes 1 1/2 hour presentation two to three hands-on activities and a personal guide through the Children's Natural History Museum. Party favors are provided as part of the activities, but you may purchase more in our museum shop. Limited food is permitted at Math Science Nucleus; Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon has more flexibility.

Monday – Friday: If you would like to have a Field Trip Birthday party for your child's class (up to 30) consider giving a gift to the teacher of a field trip. During snack you can provide cupcakes and milk and we can sing Happy Birthday. These are available for $150.00 for 24 children or less ($175 for 25 and over children( during the school week only. This can qualify as a “donation” and is tax deductible. Give the gift of education. Look at our website (http://msnucleus.org) under Field Trips if interested. This is also dependant on whether your child’s teacher approves of such a party. Transportation must be discussed with teacher.
DESCRIPTION OF PARTIES
MATH SCIENCE NUCLEUS
Dinosaurs
(recommended 5-8) Children make and take a dinosaur bracelet by sorting the
different types of dinosaurs. They will also make different footprints and skin
prints and keep a diorama of 3 dinosaurs.
Volcanoes (recommended
from 5-10) Children learn about the different parts of the volcano. They will
make their own volcano with clay and erupt it with vinegar and baking soda.
They will also look at the different rocks created by volcanic action.
Stars and Constellation (recommended 6-10) Children learn about
the different stars and where to find them in the sky. Includes star
presentation in our Miller Star Dome, comet creation and more. Magnets (recommended 7-12) Children learn about the physics of magnetism by playing with magnetic toys. They will also make a hairy monster and a magnetic toy.
TULE PONDS AT TYSON LAGOON Chemical Madness (recommended 9-12) Children learn about chemical principles by making a superb all plus different types of slimes that the students keep. Earthquakes
and Fault Walk (recommended
from 7-12) The Hayward Fault created Tyson Lagoon (sag pond).
See what happened during the last 7.0 earthquake in the Fremont area.
Activities include how our mountains were created by using flour and
water.
Exploring Nature (recommended 5-12) Children explore Tule
Ponds at Tyson Lagoon using their senses and nature tools. Each party
includes a guided tour of the area and age appropriate activities dranging from
a scavenger hunt to microscope actitivies. Ohlone Village (recommended 7-12) Discover what life was like in the Bay Area over 500 years ago. Students learn about the Ohlone Indians and how Ohlone Indians played. They will visit the Ohlone Tule Hut. They will make their own Tule Boats.
Payment:
Advance reservations required (minimum of 7 days notice). A non-refundable
deposit of $35 is required within 48 hours of reservation. Payment due on or
before the party date. Come in and see our classroom and Children's Natural History Museum.
