Learn about how organisms  convert organic waste into useable nutrients, compare thermophilic with cold composting, look at microbes and learn which is good and bad.  See how you can incorporate composting into a school science  program  like Mattos  Elementary  in Fremont. We start at Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon, where cool composting has helped create an urban forest.  Visit Masonic Home, above Union City to see a 200 acre reforestation project using food waste.   Learn how the Jora Composting system allows heat monitoring.  Lesson plans and scientific materials will be discussed and will be available online.
